Job summary

UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies seeks a Senior Data Scientist for the IDS TPSS contract at Webster Field, St Inigoes, MD. Lead advanced analytics to transform raw data into actionable insights using Python, R, and visualization tools.

Responsibilities include overseeing data mining/modeling, NLP, ML, and creating dynamic reports for strategic decisions, while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with senior team members to apply robust analytical techniques.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in data mining, modeling, NLP and ML to extract information from large datasets.
• Ability to visualize and report data findings clearly for stakeholders.
• Experience in creating dynamic data reports for strategic decision-making.
• Ability to guide and mentor junior staff on analytical techniques.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the application of data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets.
• Guides the visualization, interpretation, and reporting of data findings, ensuring clear communication of insights.
• May also oversee the creation of dynamic data reports to support strategic decision‑making.
• Supports and guides junior staff and collaborates with senior team members in applying analytical techniques and methodologies to enhance project outcomes.
