Job summary

Fingerprint is a globally remote company seeking a Senior Data Scientist to improve the Fingerprint Pro Identification Service using advanced data science and ML in a high-load environment.

You will own data science projects end to end, lead ML strategies, and collaborate across a data-driven engineering culture. Strong ML foundations and real-time inference expertise are required for this role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in machine learning, data science and backend development.
• Advanced foundations in ML and statistics.
• Strong supervised learning experience including gradient boosting.
• Experience with semi-supervised and unsupervised learning.
• Proficiency in exploratory data analysis and creative problem solving without labels.
• Real-time ML service development with in-service integration.
• Turn ML models into MVP real-time web services.
• Excellent coding in SQL and software tools (Git, CI/CD, IDEs, shell).
• Fluent English in a global remote team.

Responsibilities

• Develop data-driven algorithms for the Fingerprint Identification Service.
• Lead supervised, semi-supervised and unsupervised learning approaches.
• Own data science projects end to end from concept to deployment.
• Design experiments for ML engineering challenges like real-time inference.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to answer ad-hoc questions.
• Promote a data-driven culture across the team and tools sharing.
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation with predictable scheduling.
