Job summary

This senior data scientist role is hands-on, owning domain-specific content modeling from eval sets to pipeline deployment, delivering results to real users in a fast-evolving market.

You will design NLP enrichment pipelines, compare approaches including traditional NLP and LLM-based methods, and defend choices with metrics, cost, and speed.

Qualifications

• Experience with modern and classical NLP methods, and building evaluations.
• Ability to compare NLP approaches and justify tool choices with metrics.
• Experience collaborating with editors, product managers, and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design and build NLP enrichment pipelines to extract entities, classifications, and summaries from scientific text at scale.
• Evaluate and defend modeling choices with speed, quality and cost tradeoffs.
• Own evaluation datasets and metrics, and ship production-ready models.
• Contribute to agentic AI applications where NLP informs tool use and reasoning.
• Collaborate with editors, product managers, and engineers to shape product decisions.
