Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment's PlayStation data science team seeks a Senior Data Scientist to shape how we invest in our global player base. You will develop advanced models to quantify value, inform portfolio decisions, and drive growth with autonomy.

You will partner with Finance, Strategy and Platform, applying causal inference, forecasting and ML techniques while mentoring peers and communicating results to both technical and business stakeholders. This role offers impact and growth.

Qualifications

• Proven industry experience delivering analytical and modelling solutions in customer value, incrementality, forecasting, or investment decisioning.
• Experience with optimization or operations research approaches or strong quantitative foundation to pick these up quickly.
• Strong grounding in causal inference and impact measurement with judgement to assess assumptions.
• Experience owning projects end-to-end from problem definition to delivery and adoption.
• Ability to work with large, complex datasets and translate into scalable, trustworthy solutions.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills with finance and business partners.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; comfort with ML tooling; PySpark experience.
• Master’s or PhD in operations research, ML, statistics, economics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver advanced modelling to quantify player value, incremental impact, and long‑term platform value.
• Measure the incremental effect of launches and investments and translate into actionable insights.
• Build optimization and scenario models for long‑range planning under real‑world constraints.
• Own ambiguous problem spaces and break down complex challenges into tractable solutions.
• Partner with Finance, Strategy and Platform to ensure value‑driving products are adopted.
• Evaluate modelling approaches balancing rigour, performance, scalability and business impact.
• Mentor data scientists and contribute to best practices across the team.
• Communicate complex modelling approaches and outcomes to technical and non‑technical audiences.
