Sotalent is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to lead workforce research and people analytics, applying advanced statistical methods to inform decisions across recruitment, compensation, talent development and retention.

Working with cross-functional stakeholders, you will turn complex workforce data into actionable insights, lead high-impact research and support strategic people-related decisions. Remote within the United States.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience in data science or a related quantitative field.
• Strong experience with causal inference, observational data and quasi-experimental research design.
• Proficiency in R or Python for statistical analysis.
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction and analysis.
• Experience applying data science to compensation, recruitment, workforce or organisational research.
• Familiarity with survey design and analysis.
• Experience working with large datasets and legally sensitive information.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex findings into business recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to research using causal inference and quasi-experimental methods on observational workforce data.
• Analyse recruitment, hiring, promotion, retention, compensation, pay equity and organisational effectiveness.
• Lead compensation analytics, including sensitive analyses supporting pay structures, rewards and talent decisions.
• Partner with Recruiting to design and measure quality-of-hire metrics.
• Develop statistical models, visualisations and research findings to guide business decisions.
• Work closely with Recruiting, Talent, Compensation, Legal and other business stakeholders.
• Support employee survey design and analysis, statutory reporting and data governance.
• Use AI tools and LLM-based agents to accelerate research, analysis and reporting.

Location Requirements

Remote within the United States, subject to eligible employment states. Occasional office visits or company offsites may be required.

• Base salary of $180,000–$210,000 per year.
• Potential eligibility for bonus and equity.
