Job summary

Oteemo, Inc is seeking a Data Scientist to lead design and development of optimization and ML models that allocate scarce parts across programs. You will own the modeling lifecycle from problem framing to production deployment, working with stakeholders to turn competing priorities into solvable objectives.

This high-visibility role requires strong Python skills, experience with MILP/constraint optimization, and the ability to communicate complex tradeoffs to non-technical partners.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience building optimization and ML models for allocation, scheduling, or supply chain.
• Experience with MILP/constraint optimization and solvers (Gurobi/CPLEX/OR-Tools).
• Strong Python skills with ML frameworks and data libraries.
• Experience with real-world supply chain data and messy datasets.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement optimization models for allocating scarce parts across programs.
• Develop ML models to forecast demand, supply risk, and part availability.
• Translate priorities into objective functions and constraints.
• Validate model outputs against historical decisions and stakeholder expectations.
• Build data pipelines to keep models current with live inventory and program data.
• Present modeling tradeoffs to non-technical program and supply-chain stakeholders.
• Mentor junior data scientists on optimization techniques and modeling best practices.
• Partner with software engineers to productionize models as scalable services.
