Elder Research, Inc is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our Defense and Intelligence Business unit in the USA-MD-Ft. Meade area.

The role focuses on developing advanced ML and statistical models to address complex challenges for Intelligence Community clients, with leadership responsibilities for a team of data scientists. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in machine learning, data mining, and data analytics, plus TS/SCI with Poly and the ability to communicate complex

Qualifications

• Current TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
• BA/BS in Math, Statistics, Engineering, CS, or related field.
• Proficiency with Python and R.
• Experience using large data sets to solve problems.
• Knowledge of machine learning, data wrangling, advanced statistical data analysis and modeling.
• AWS or Cloud experience.
• Ability to communicate complex models and concepts effectively in non-technical language.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement ML, data mining, statistical and graph-based algorithms to analyze large datasets.
• Prototype and evaluate multiple algorithms, selecting the final model based on performance metrics.
• Design and execute experiments or create models when training data is unavailable.
• Generate reports and visualizations with actionable insights for clients.
• Translate complex data analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with SMEs to automate data analysis and integrate analytics into production.
• Assess client readiness to adopt data analytics across technical, cultural, and workforce aspects.
• Apply data science expertise to deliver business solutions.
• Stay current with emerging ML and data analytics tools and techniques.
• Lead a team of data scientists on multiple analytic efforts.
