The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking an IT Data Scientist to lead and mentor data science initiatives, guiding models from development to deployment in collaboration with BI stakeholders. This role emphasizes senior technical expertise and strategic influence across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a master's degree (PhD preferred) with 12+ years of experience in data science, ML, data wrangling, and leading large datasets, including Python and SQL prowess.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher required.
• 12 years of relevant experience incl. 8 years in product development support/technology decisions.
• Experience with machine learning algorithms (listed in the ad).
• Expert knowledge of ML libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and keras.
• Leadership to others working with large datasets for exploratory analysis.
• Proven ability to lead knowledge discovery and ML model development.

Responsibilities

• Execute large scale models using advanced ML techniques (various algorithms).
• Create and support a cloud-based data science solution.
• Develop scalable, automated data analysis and ML processes.
• Collaborate with data engineers and product managers to turn analysis into actionable algorithms.
• Champion a data-driven culture and develop best-in-class data science capabilities.
• Provide direction for strategic plans and product roadmaps.
• Inform requirements related to data creation, tracking, and access.
• Analyze and protect data and troubleshoot issues.
• Lead data science solutions and mentor teammates.
