Versa Networks is seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our Machine Learning team. You will contribute to data-driven projects from exploratory data analysis to building and deploying ML models for security and networking use-cases, collaborating with cross-functional teams to uncover insights and drive data-informed decisions.

Required: Master’s degree in CS/engineering and 4–5 years of experience, strong Python, and experience with Pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow or PyTorch.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science/engineering.
• 4–5 years of experience in data science.
• Strong Python programming language.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (Pandas/Polars, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
• Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques.
• Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with NLP and large language models is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Data Analysis and Visualization: Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to understand data characteristics and identify patterns.
• Data Preparation and Engineering: Ingest, clean, preprocess, and transform data for analysis and modeling.
• Machine Learning: Build, train, and evaluate ML models for security use-cases (threat/vulnerability detection) and related tasks.
• Model Deployment: Collaborate with engineering to deploy models in production and handle quantization and deployment formats like ONNX.
• Problem-Solving: Improve training pipelines and optimize inference.
• Collaboration: Work with data engineers, analysts, and domain experts to translate requirements into insights.
