Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to drive ML/LLM initiatives across manufacturing data, including non-conformance analysis, SPC, and predictive maintenance to accelerate production workflows.

You will interface with scientists, engineers and business stakeholders, build production-ready AWS pipelines, mentor teammates, and help define metrics with clear data-driven storytelling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data querying languages (e.g., SQL) or scripting languages (e.g., Python).
• 4+ years of data science experience.
• Experience with statistical models such as multinomial logistic regression.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (stats, math, data science, economics, engineering, CS).
• 8+ years of data querying languages or scripting languages experience.
• 7+ years of data science experience.
• Experience with common ML/stat modeling tools (random forests, gradient boosting, LASSO, logistic regression).
• Knowledge of AWS tech stack (Redshift, S3, EC2, Glue).
• Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team.
• Experience with process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of ML/LLM solutions to analyze manufacturing data and identify failure patterns and operational risks.
• Design predictive models for statistical process control and equipment maintenance optimization.
• Build production-ready ML pipelines leveraging AWS services such as SageMaker, Bedrock, AWS Glue.
• Formalize assumptions about model behavior and identify outliers or fixes with explanations.
• Develop and test model enhancements, run experiments, and fine-tune parameters.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to translate manufacturing challenges into data-driven solutions.
• Drive consensus on metrics and analysis approaches to support business strategy.
• Write documents and create visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders.
• Mentor team members and promote data science best practices across the organization.
