Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead enterprise analytics projects and mentor the data science team. You will design and validate predictive models, supervise analyst work, and ensure rigorous analytical practices.

You will also develop dashboards and executive scorecards, advising government personnel on model interpretation and appropriate use of analyses. A strong background in statistics, programming, and SQL is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline with coursework in statistics, programming, and quantitative analysis.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience applying data science or statistical methods to real-world problems.
• Advanced proficiency in Python or R with modular code, testing, and version control; strong SQL skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead analytical projects of enterprise scope, review methods and results for rigor, and mentor other analysts.
• Instruct and mentor Data Scientists and contract personnel in data science practices and tools.
• Design, develop, and automate enterprise dashboards, executive scorecards, KPIs, MOPs, and MOEs for government use; ensure reproducible methodologies.
