Job summary

LexisNexis Risk Solutions is seeking a Senior Data Scientist I for the Auto Insurance Rating Analytics team to define project scope and deliver data-driven solutions. You will develop advanced models, analyze operational data, and collaborate with product teams to enable innovative risk insights.

You will leverage Python/R, SQL, and ML techniques to process high-volume data, build robust models, and mentor junior staff while contributing to cutting-edge risk analytics in insurance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field; advanced degree preferred.
• 3+ years in data manipulation and AI/ML methods, ideally with credit data in insurance/finance.
• Strong programming in Python and/or R; SQL proficiency.
• Experience merging large datasets in distributed environments.
• Solid ML knowledge: hypothesis testing, modeling, validation.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope and execute it with minimal supervision.
• Develop, analyze, and model data to quantify competitive performance across segments.
• Build and validate models using statistical and ML techniques.
• Support junior staff and share cross-functional knowledge.
• Collaborate with product and vertical teams to implement solutions.
• Lead small project teams as needed.
• Explain complex results to stakeholders with clear visuals.
