Job summary

EXL Analytics seeks a senior data scientist specializing in P&C insurance analytics to develop ML models for pricing, customer behavior, retention, and risk segmentation. Qualifications

• 7+ years in P&C insurance analytics, pricing, or actuarial-adjacent Data Science roles.
• Proficiency in advanced ML, NLP, and DL techniques.
• End-to-end ownership from data preparation to deployment.
• Explain analytical results to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of P&C pricing concepts, lifecycle, and risk segmentation.
• BS or MS in data science/analytics or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Develop ML models for pricing, customer behavior, retention, and risk segmentation.
• Build, enhance, and maintain GLM-based pricing models for insurance products.
• Perform model comparison between traditional actuarial models and ML approaches.
• Design feature engineering pipelines using policy, claims, exposure, and behavioral data.
• Conduct model validation, monitoring, and stability analysis.
• Deploy and operationalize models using Databricks-based workflows.
• Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, and product teams to translate problems into analytics.
• Document methodology, assumptions, and results for governance.
