Job summary

Spokeo Inc. is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to own modeling from concept to production. You will work closely with the Director of Data Science, product owners, ML engineers, and DevOps to deploy scalable models on AWS SageMaker and Databricks.

The role emphasizes building robust evaluation, labeling at scale, and communicating findings clearly to stakeholders. Remote-first with US-based options, competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of applied data science experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; master's preferred.
• Experience taking a model from idea to production in the cloud (AWS SageMaker, Databricks, MLflow).
• Worked with very large datasets (100M rows+) using Spark, Python and SQL.
• Ability to clearly explain results to engineers and product owners.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve models that match records and score confidence.
• Design labels and evaluation datasets; estimate accuracy when no ground truth exists.
• Take models to production on AWS, manage retrain schedules and registry.
• Review data builds, detect regressions, explain changes to product and sales teams.
• Collaborate with Product Owner to turn findings into actionable stories.
• Document methods and review teammates' code; participate in DS/ML group.
