Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior Data Scientist to lead the design and deployment of advanced data science solutions. You will work with cross-functional teams to transform data into actionable insights using Generative AI and LLMs, while handling unstructured data and building scalable models.

You will mentor junior data scientists and contribute to GM's data science community, shaping analytics strategy across domains in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in data science or a related analytical role.
• Strong proficiency in Python, vector databases, and similarity search engines.
• Hands-on experience with foundation models (LLMs) for structured reasoning tasks and RAG architectures.
• Experience with agentic framework design and multi-agent system orchestration.
• Familiarity with Kiro, Bedrock AgentCore, and Bedrock Knowledge Base.
• Ability to apply predictive and prescriptive analytics to real-world problems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex data science solutions addressing business challenges.
• Manage unstructured and multi-structured data.
• Design, build, train, and deploy Generative AI and machine learning models to solve predictive and prescriptive problems.
• Utilize advanced analytics to forecast trends, identify risks, and optimize processes.
• Create data visualizations to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to deliver impactful solutions.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to GM's data science community.
