Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Data Scientist to join the US Card Fraud Authentication Data Science team in New York. You will leverage Python, Spark, AWS and ML to analyze large datasets and improve authentication decisioning at scale.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders, engineers and product managers to design, prototype and deploy models, aligning technical work with strategic goals and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field plus 5 years analytics experience.
• Master's or MBA with quantitative focus plus 3 years analytics experience.
• PhD in a quantitative field.

Responsibilities

• Dive into ambiguous fraud landscapes to identify ML opportunities and design the technical vision for authentication workflows.
• Harness Spark and AWS to uncover patterns and turn data into fraud-prevention strategies.
• Partner with business, data scientists, engineers and product managers to deliver a product customers love.
• Build ML models through design, training, evaluation, validation and implementation.
• Explain the why behind solutions to influence stakeholders and drive business goals.
