Job summary

Point72 is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the Data Services group. You will help implement a large research infrastructure and support live production trading across global capital markets, handling billions of dollars in capital.

The role emphasizes onboarding diverse datasets, building robust data workflows, and delivering high-quality, actionable data products for investment teams. Strong Python/SQL skills and 5+ years in data science are required.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's in Financial Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science or related quantitative field.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience with AWS, Linux and Airflow preferred but not required.
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
• Experience working with large data sets and predictive modeling.
• Financial industry experience preferred but not required.
• Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and a love of processes.

Responsibilities

• Onboard novel datasets from diverse sources into our platform.
• Build processes and tools to ingest, clean and deliver datasets.
• Analyze data for usability, cleanliness and feature extraction.
• Create in-house derived data products for investment teams.
• Engage with vendors and stakeholders to understand data characteristics.
• Collaborate with investment teams to meet data requirements.
• Research new technologies (including AI) to improve data management.
