Job summary

Point72 is seeking a data analyst embedded in an investing team to drive innovation by connecting data sources with fundamental research. You will work directly with a portfolio manager and analysts to support investment theses and decision-making, building scalable data systems and models for KPI analysis.

The role emphasizes Python/R coding, data visualization, and collaboration across teams, with a focus on ethical standards and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or higher.
• Quantitative ability demonstrated through coursework or work equivalent.
• Experience with diverse data types including structured, unstructured, and time-series data.
• Strong understanding of statistical concepts and applying them to large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Help analyze a broad universe of Compliance-approved data to influence idea generation and investment decisions, with an emphasis on equities.
• Design, build, and maintain data products and predictive models for KPIs and forward-looking metrics.
• Investigate and explore innovative approaches to extract meaningful information from complex datasets.
• Develop agile, automated systems that rapidly ingest, synthesize, and analyze diverse data in real-time for actionable insights.
• Optimize and scale data infrastructure to enhance performance, reliability, and adaptability for high-volume streams.
• Develop and maintain high-quality, efficient, and modular code with well-documented libraries and data pipelines.
• Stay on top of the newest technologies approved for use across the firm.
• Partner with Compliance on initiatives such as approved data sources and analytics.
