Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to support a federal client onsite in Raleigh, NC. You will identify business trends and solve complex problems through advanced big data analysis.

You will interpret results from multiple data sources using a wide range of techniques - from statistical analysis and data aggregation to complex data mining and design and implement high-value business solutions that directly support mission outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related field.
• Active Public Trust clearance.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python and/or R.

Responsibilities

• Develop rapid analysis scripts, visualization prototypes, and interactive dashboards tailored to project needs.
• Prepare and present analysis reports, visioning session materials, and project documentation.
• Apply appropriate analysis techniques based on available data and project requirements.
• Deliver products that meet Business Unit needs and are usable with minimal training.
• Ensure all documentation is accurate, clear, and free of errors.
• Design and develop mathematical optimization models and source code/scripts to support analytical solutions.
• Produce translational documentation for use in analytical and visualization product development.
• Prepare proposal presentations and project result documentation.
• Ensure model parameters and functions are appropriate for the given need and available data.
• Meet project timelines while maintaining high-quality deliverables.

• Prepare and manage big data pipelines to support business solutions.
• Implement data models and develop databases aligned with organizational objectives.
• Collaborate across business units to ensure solutions are scalable, accurate, and actionable.
