Overview

Position Summary... What you'll do. We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to lead and create initiatives for future strategies across Walmart that enhances our eCommerce Customer Value Proposition. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role within the organization with expectations to deliver immediate results. In this role, you’ll primarily be responsible for creating a long-term strategy and transformative path for Walmart’s rapidly growing omnichannel business.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute entire analytical projects from start to finish, including cross-functional project management, data collection and manipulation, analysis and modeling, and the communication of insights and recommendations.
• Build scalable and complex models and processes to optimize digital and physical flows with the goal of delivering an excellent customer experience while balancing long-term financial efficiency.
• Demonstrate a high degree of originality and creativity when developing solutions to improve existing eCommerce experiences, utilizing methods such as statistical analysis, regression modeling, and optimization.
• Identify areas of opportunity and influence execution of results via cross-functional participation to enable quick wins and continuous improvement.
• Create and deploy robust metrics and dashboards to enable tangible transformation.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• 4 - 6 years of supply chain/customer advanced modelling.
• Experience with large dataset mining tools and open-source programming tools (e.g., R, Python, HiveQL, Spark).
• Experience with advanced analytical modeling tools, network optimization, and long-range planning.
• Experience in eCommerce, retail and supply chain domains and related information systems — search, impressions, conversion, distribution/transportation, sourcing, planning, manufacturing, and inventory management.
• Retail industry experience.
• MBA, MS, or PhD in Analytics, Economics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management.

• Data science, machine learning, optimization models; Master’s degree in related fields; successful completion of assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R; experience with open-source frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Knowledge of accessibility best practices and WCAG 2.2 AA standards is a plus.

Benefits and Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Benefits include health (medical, vision, dental), 401(k), stock purchase, life insurance, paid time off, and other programs described by Walmart. Minimum Qualifications

1. Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years of analytics experience.
2. Option 2: Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 year of analytics experience.
3. Option 3: 5 years of analytics or related field experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Optional qualifications for this position include:

• Data science, machine learning, optimization models; Master’s degree in related fields; completion of assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R; experience with open-source frameworks.
