Role Summary

Role summary: The Senior Manager, Data Science, leads Data Science and AI initiatives to develop, validate, and deploy robust machine learning models that drive strategic business decisions. This role requires expertise in statistical methods, data visualization, and programming to translate complex data into actionable insights. The position involves guiding teams, collaborating across functions, and aligning data solutions with business objectives. The successful candidate will ensure model accuracy, scalability, and continuous improvement while fostering a culture of innovation and operational excellence within a dynamic, data‑driven environment.

About the team: The team supports Ecommerce strategy and supply chain business by leveraging data science, optimization, and Artificial Intelligence tools. Focused on enhancing order fulfillment, accelerating delivery, and improving member experience, the group applies advanced analytical methods and machine learning to reduce cost‑to‑serve. Collaborating across business functions, the team transforms complex data into actionable insights, supporting strategic decision‑making. Members utilize programming, statistical modeling, and data visualization to develop scalable solutions. This dynamic environment encourages continuous learning and innovation to meet evolving business needs while maintaining high standards of integrity and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the development, assessment, and validation of AI advanced analytical models using statistical and machine learning techniques to ensure accuracy and robustness.
  • Design and implement data visualization solutions that effectively communicate complex insights to business stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable data science projects aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Guide and mentor data science team members on modeling, feature engineering, and best practices.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to identify data sources, ensure data quality, and deploy scalable models into production environments.
  • Drive continuous improvement by integrating emerging AI and machine learning trends to enhance business impact.
What You’ll Bring
  • Extensive experience in data science, machine learning, and advanced statistical methods to develop and validate complex models.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Tableau, or PowerBI for effective data representation.
  • Strong knowledge of model assessment techniques including ROC curves, Chi‑square tests, and root mean square error metrics.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into data‑driven solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Expertise in deploying scalable models and monitoring performance in production environments.
  • Proven leadership skills to mentor associates and drive cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Solid understanding of business metrics and supply chain networks to inform analytical strategies.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 5 years’ experience in an analytics related field.
  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 3 years’ experience in an analytics related field.
  • 7 years’ experience in an analytics or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Data science, machine learning, optimization models expertise.
  • PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or Econometrics.
  • Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience with open source frameworks (e.g., scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integration of digital accessibility best practices.
