Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years in data architecture/engineering or advanced DB design in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• 15+ years leading or mentoring technical teams with cross‑functional scope.
• Hands-on data modeling experience with modeling tools.
• Deep, hands-on experience with GCP technologies (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataform, Data Fusion, Astronomer).
• Experience designing or implementing data mesh or domain‑oriented architectures.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data product enablement practices.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and modern data pipeline/orchestration tools.
• Strong stakeholder management across plant floor operations and enterprise IT/analytics functions.

Responsibilities

• Shape Ford's data mesh architecture across manufacturing and enterprise domains, defining domain boundaries and data contracts.
• Lead federated governance policies including schema standards, data quality SLAs, security classifications, lineage and retention.
• Drive modernization via cloud-native patterns (GCP, Vertex AI, LLM orchestration) to deliver measurable business impact.
• Transform raw cloud data into curated, high‑quality data products with clear ownership and SLAs.
• Build ingestions, transformations, and publishing pipelines (batch/streaming) for reusable data assets.
• Develop data models and semantic layers (ontologies/knowledge graphs) for AI agent consumption.
• Collaborate with product/analytics teams to translate use cases into data requirements and architecture guidance.
• Establish and enforce enterprise data architecture principles, standards, and observability.
