Job summary

Forsyth Barnes partners with a leading global consumer organisation to recruit a Senior Data Scientist in Computer Vision. You will design and deploy production-grade CV models, spanning image recognition, detection, OCR and segmentation, while shaping the technical roadmap for an AI platform.

You will work with Product and Engineering, mentoring teams and driving AI initiatives from concept to production in a hybrid Atlanta setting. Strong CV, ML and Python skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' commercial experience in Data Science, ML or CV.
• Hands-on experience deploying production CV solutions.
• Experience with image recognition: OCR, object detection, segmentation.
• Strong Python experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV.
• Experience taking models from development to production deployment.
• Desirable: optimisation for mobile/edge/real-time inference.
• Strong product mindset and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Forsyth Barnes is partnering with a leading global consumer organisation to appoint a Senior Data Scientist – Computer Vision within its expanding AI & Data Science function.

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing next-generation Computer Vision capabilities that will underpin future AI products and intelligent automation initiatives across the organisation. Working closely with Product, Engineering and business stakeholders, you'll design, build and deploy production-grade Computer Vision solutions whilst helping shape the technical roadmap for an innovative AI platform.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Computer Vision specialist who combines deep technical expertise with a product mindset and enjoys solving complex real-world problems from concept through to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy production Computer Vision models that solve complex business challenges.
• Build solutions across image recognition, object detection, image classification, OCR and image segmentation.
• Optimise Machine Learning models for production environments, including mobile and edge-device deployment where appropriate.
• Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to define technical requirements and help shape the product roadmap.
• Build scalable inference pipelines and production AI services.
• Evaluate emerging Computer Vision techniques and recommend new technologies where appropriate.
• Improve model accuracy, robustness and production performance through experimentation and optimisation.
• Work directly with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable AI solutions.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across Computer Vision initiatives.
• Champion best practices across Computer Vision, Machine Learning and AI engineering.

Required Experience

• 7+ years' commercial experience across Data Science, Machine Learning or Computer Vision.
• Strong hands-on experience building and deploying production Computer Vision solutions.
• Experience developing image recognition models, including object detection, image classification, OCR and image segmentation.
• Strong Python experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow and OpenCV.
• Experience taking Machine Learning models from development through production deployment.
• Experience optimising models for mobile, edge-device or real-time inference is highly desirable.
• Strong product mindset with experience partnering with Product and Engineering teams to build AI-powered products.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
