Job summary

Walmart in Madison, USA seeks a Senior Data Scientist to drive data-driven initiatives and develop advanced models that translate into actionable business insights. You will interact with executives and cross-functional teams to accelerate omni-channel growth and inform strategic directions.

You will deliver scalable analytics, mentor junior researchers, and present clear findings to stakeholders to influence decision-making and ongoing optimization.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated progressed modeling experience in driving information driven projects from definition to execution, driving and impacting project guides.
• Profound skill in writing and debugging complex SQL code and Python code.
• Strong written, oral communication and presentation abilities.
• Ability to analyze complex problems with decisive reasoning and creative solutions; and have strong scientific mindset with attention to detail.
• End-to-end modeling project experience in a lead role from start to finish.
• Over 2 years of involvement and deep knowledge in retail industry and full-scale monetary related capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Investigate enormous and complex datasets to recognize patterns, examples, and bits of knowledge to quantify execution against contest and illuminate business valuable learning experiences.
• Research, create and implement cutting-edge statistical models and AI algorithms on fast-structured and unstructured data to support independent direction.
• Have an exceptionally impressive product mindset and proactively ideate, plan, improve and automate meaningful data products.
• Lead projects and own lifecycle including model and data process code, liaising with cross-functional teams (Architects, Finance, Merchandising, Operations, Marketing, etc.) to align progress and collaborate on initiatives.
• Communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear and concise reports, visualizations and presentations to drive decisions and business actions.
• Guide and coach junior data researchers on modeling process and algorithms and foster a collaborative and innovative workplace.
