Job summary

Home Depot is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead data science initiatives that drive profitability, efficiency, and automation across MET operations. You will mentor data scientists, prioritize tasks, and present insights to executives, collaborating with product managers and cross-functional teams to translate analytics into actionable business outcomes.

Qualifications

Masters or PhD in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Math, Statistics, etc.).
4+ years of experience deploying data science models to live applications (Model Productionization).
2+ years in Data Science with focus on Conversational AI, GenAI, Multimodal AI, agentic workflows, custom tool-calling (AI Orchestration).
Proficient in Python; proficient in SQL; strong statistical techniques; knowledge of Prescriptive Modeling.

Responsibilities

35% Solution Development: design and develop algorithms for large datasets; communicate insights to leaders and partners; prepare progress reports.
30% Project Management & Team Support: guide goals, prioritize work, mentor juniors, distribute workload.
20% Business Collaboration: leverage business knowledge, educate partners on advanced analytics, understand IT needs.
15% Technical Exploration & Development: stay updated on data science developments, codify reusable solutions.
