Job summary

EvenUp is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our Analytics team, working on our AI product suite and transforming data into actionable insights that influence product direction and business outcomes.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations, defining KPIs, planning annotation work, and building scalable self-serve analytics, while mentoring team members to elevate data storytelling and rigor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent years of practical work experience.
• 5+ years of experience using SQL or similar big data querying languages.
• 5+ years of experience with Python or R.
• 5+ years of experience with applied statistical techniques (inferential/causal methods, A/B testing, statistical modeling).
• Experience applying ML and statistical analysis to build data-driven product solutions or research.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to distill complex findings for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex datasets into clear insights with strategic recommendations that drive action and inform product direction.
• Partner with Product, Engineering and Operations to define KPIs.
• Plan evaluation data and annotation work and define evaluation schemas.
• Communicate results clearly and tailor messaging to audiences.
• Help build scalable analytics foundations including instrumentation and self-serve tools.
• Mentor teammates and raise data storytelling and analytical standards.
