Job summary

Dexian is seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Scientist for an on-site role in Boca Raton, FL. You will design, develop, and deploy ML/AI solutions, manage full ML project lifecycles, and mentor juniors. Strong Python and SQL, plus production ML experience, are required.

You will lead modeling efforts, ensure model governance, and collaborate with leadership to translate business needs into technical solutions. This role offers contract-to-hire and a path to permanent placement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• 5-8 years of experience in data science, predictive analytics, software engineering, or related fields.
• Strong expertise in designing and architecting advanced machine learning and AI solutions.
• Proven experience in model training, hyperparameter tuning, and scalable training pipelines.
• Deep understanding of model validation, fairness, bias mitigation, and governance.
• Hands-on experience deploying ML systems with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker), orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Track record of building automated model monitoring and retraining workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop ML/AI models by framing business issues, engineering features, and selecting suitable algorithms.
• Prepare data, fit algorithms, tune hyperparameters, and validate model robustness with cross-validation.
• Evaluate model performance with metrics, conduct fairness/bias assessments, and analyze errors.
• Deploy models into production, package/code, automate deployment, and document for maintenance.
• Continuously monitor deployed models, track performance, detect data drift, and trigger retraining.
• Collaborate with junior team members to discuss trade-offs and provide technical leadership.
• Communicate results and insights effectively to leadership and stakeholders.
