Job summary

Walmart Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to develop custom data models and analyze large, complex data sets from internal and external sources. You will build predictive models, train algorithms, and validate techniques to drive Walmart eCommerce initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, CS, IT or related field with 1–3 years analytics experience.
• Experience with statistical methods and modeling: graphical models, Bayesian inference, neural networks, SVM, RF.
• Proficiency in Python and R; experience with optimization and numerical methods.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and big data tools like Hadoop/Spark/Hive.
• Experience with data visualization tools (ggplot, Matplotlib, Plotly, Tableau, PowerBI).
• Experience with NLP tools (NLTK, spaCy, Gensim) and vector databases.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom data models to drive business solutions.
• Build large data sets from multiple sources for predictive models.
• Train and validate models; scale algorithms to large datasets.
• Work with cross-functional partners across Walmart eCommerce.
• Research new industry techniques and apply modern tech (HBase, MapReduce, LAPack, Gurobi).
• Provide analytical support to projects and test/validate models.
