Job summary

Bowhead seeks a Senior Data Scientist for the upcoming TPSS contract at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD. The role focuses on leading analytics work that turns raw data into actionable insights, using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software.

The Senior Data Scientist will guide data mining, modeling, NLP, and ML efforts, collaborating with senior staff to drive mission-critical outcomes for the NAVWAR Center.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience and a Master’s degree; alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree plus four (4) additional years of experience.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels and with outside contacts.
• Must be able to maintain a Secret clearance; US Citizenship is required for a Secret clearance at this location.

Responsibilities

• Oversee data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to analyze large structured and unstructured datasets.
• Direct visualization, interpretation, and reporting of data findings to support clear communication of insights.
• May oversee the creation of dynamic data reports to enable strategic decision-making.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and collaborate with the team to improve project outcomes.
