Our employees are passionate dreamers, thoughtful doers, and lifelong learners who power meaningful moments for millions around the world. We’re united by authentic connection, shared purpose, and a deep commitment to the global community we serve. Here, flexibility and belonging go hand in hand with high performance. Driven by our core values, we believe the best ideas come from empowered teams: those who consistently collaborate with intention to design solutions, spark ideas, and drive impact. Our people are at the heart of our success.

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM

The Knot Worldwide is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team of data professionals supporting our E-commerce zone. This key business unit is a rapidly expanding area of growth including products like Paper (invitations and stationery), Registry, Wedding Websites and Guest Management.

As a senior individual contributor within our Data Science & Analytics organization, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping our business and product strategy. You will achieve this by guiding experimentation and unlocking new growth opportunities by translating data science models – built on comprehensive data about user behavior and business performance – into actionable, strategic insights. You will partner with cross-functional teams – including product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders – to ensure we are making data-driven decisions that deliver measurable results. As a trusted advisor and mentor, you will both lead analyses directly and elevate the work of the broader team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data to generate insights about our users and business and help the organization make informed and impactful decisions
  • Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression, classification, clustering, forecasting, causal inference) to uncover insights and guide strategy
  • Forecast and simulate hypotheticals to provide early potential signals before large initiatives start
  • Design and analyze A/B and multivariate testing experiments; guide experimentation best practices across teams
  • Build and maintain self-serve reports, capabilities, and applications for partners within the organization
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the product, relevant data assets, and the outcomes of past experiments and analyses
  • Identify opportunities for new data products and integrations and collaborate with business and product partners to implement them
  • Partner with engineers to ensure appropriate and scalable tracking is in place
  • Communicate, collaborate, and present results and recommendations to stakeholders at multiple levels of the business
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other data scientists
SUCCESSFUL SENIOR DATA SCIENTIST CANDIDATES HAVE
  • Excellent communication skills; able to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions
  • Advanced knowledge of statistics, including hypothesis testing, regression, causal inference, and forecasting
  • Hands‑on experience with experiment design, analysis, and rollout of A/B and multivariate tests
  • Advanced SQL skills and ability to write efficient, production‑ready queries
  • Strong Python skills for data manipulation, visualization, and advanced analysis
  • Knowledge of data modeling and experience partnering with engineers on data infrastructure
  • Experience influencing stakeholders and driving alignment through data‑driven insights
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field preferred
  • 3‑5 years of experience in data science or advanced analytics, with some prior leadership, mentorship, or project ownership experience
  • Experience working in a matrix environment for a product‑led company and/or online marketplace preferred
