Alegeus is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to design and scale data pipelines and microservices in a hybrid Boston-area role. You will work with Java, Spring, Kafka, SQL, and Spark to support dashboards and decision-making across the organization.

You’ll collaborate with engineering, analytics, and business teams, driving data quality, reliability, and scalable reporting capabilities in a cloud-native environment. This role offers a flexible work setup with in-office requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with Java, Spring, Kafka, SQL, and Spark.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
• Experience building scalable microservices and data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pipelines across distributed systems.
• Develop Java-based microservices and APIs for data movement and workflows.
• Shape reporting by migrating to a unified self-service platform.
• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and business teams on data solutions.
• Improve platform reliability, performance, and scalability; troubleshoot data issues.
