Job summary

Imperial Brady in Jersey City, NJ seeks a Senior Quality Engineer to build automated testing for Fabric data pipelines and lakehouse transformations. You will own test strategy, implement end-to-end validation, and mentor developers on testing practices within a Dev, UAT, Prod sprint cycle.

The role focuses on automated checks, environment parity, and reporting quality metrics such as test coverage, pass rate, and defect escapes, not manual QA. Strong Python and SQL skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in test automation or data engineering with testing focus.
• Experience building test frameworks, not only using existing ones.
• Strong Python and SQL capabilities.
• Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and data models.

Responsibilities

• Build automated tests that exercise Fabric pipelines, notebooks, and transformation logic, proving end-to-end runs and correct results.
• Build automated checks that validate MLVs, lakehouse tables, and semantic models for schema and dependencies.
• Test incremental load behavior including watermarking, idempotency, and restart safety.
• Automate environment parity verification across Dev, UAT, and Prod and report drift promptly.
• Act as technical authority on testing and mentor developers on writing tests.
• Help stand up testing and deployment practices against Fabric Well-Architected Framework.
• Report on engineering quality with real numbers: coverage, pass rate, build failure, and defect escape.
