Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking a Senior Data QA Tester to ensure the quality and reliability of enterprise-scale data platforms and pipelines across cloud and hybrid environments. You will lead test strategy, develop automated validation frameworks, and collaborate with data engineers and stakeholders to deliver trusted data solutions.

The role requires 10+ years in software testing and strong Snowflake and AWS experience, with a hybrid work model in San Francisco.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software testing, data QA, or related field.
• Hands-on Snowflake testing including data loads and validation.
• Hands-on PySpark, Spark SQL, and advanced SQL scripting.
• Experience testing ETL/ELT, big data, and cloud data pipelines.
• Expertise in test automation, data validation, reconciliation, and defect management.
• Experience with AWS data services (S3, Glue, EMR, Redshift, Lambda).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management across teams.
• Experience in Energy & Utilities industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead test strategy, planning, execution, and quality governance for large-scale data platforms and pipeline initiatives.
• Develop and maintain automated validation frameworks for data ingestion, transformation, reconciliation, schema validation, and data quality testing.
• Execute and oversee functional, integration, regression, performance, and cloud-based testing activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define acceptance criteria, identify defects, and drive resolution throughout the development lifecycle.
• Monitor quality metrics, automation effectiveness, and defect trends while promoting testing best practices and continuous improvement.
