Gradient AI is seeking a Senior QA Data Engineer to elevate data quality across our data lake and production pipelines. You will design and implement automated data quality tests, collaborate with Eng and Customer teams, and help ensure reliable data for pricing and claims tooling in a fast-growing AI startup.

The role emphasizes meticulous testing, Python, SQL, and dbt/Soda-style checks, with a focus on scalability, observability, and clear quality reporting for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years QA experience with backend automated testing.
• Experience building automated data tests with Soda/dbt or equivalent.
• Strong SQL skills and Python familiarity.
• Experience with Airflow and Databricks or lakehouse environments.
• Version control and CI/CD familiarity.
• Understanding of data pipelines testing: functional, integration, regression.

Responsabilités

• Build an automated data quality suite across data refreshes.
• Define checks as code using dbt tests, Soda, and SQL.
• Validate loads for completeness and schema before processing.
• Reconcile data across Databricks layers and downstream outputs.
• Detect anomalies and changes in historical data.
• Produce data quality reports per customer gating promotion.
• Track quality metrics and close coverage gaps.
• Collaborate with engineers to ship pipelines with checks.
