Job summary

The Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS) is seeking a Senior Technical Product Owner, Data to lead data platform initiatives, spanning mission-critical SQL Server systems and cloud-native databases. You will translate complex data requirements into actionable roadmaps and user stories, while guiding a high‑performing, agile team.

Ideal candidates will have hands‑on experience with database development, data modeling, Power BI, and cloud platforms (Azure SQL, Snowflake, AWS).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 8+ years in product ownership or equivalent role.
• 2–3 years hands-on experience as a database developer or data engineer working with SQL Server, Azure SQL, Snowflake, or similar.
• Deep SQL Server experience including schema design, stored procedures, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Power BI and data modeling to inform database design decisions.
• CSPO or SAFe POPM certification.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain backlog for database development initiatives and balance business value with platform reliability.
• Define product vision and roadmap for the data platform aligned with strategy.
• Write detailed user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria for engineering teams.
• Mentor junior team members and drive agile process improvements.
