Job summary

Peregrine is expanding its AI-enabled data platform to serve public safety and government customers with high-speed data ingestion, processing, and enrichment across regions. We seek a Foundations engineer who will own significant features from design through production, ensuring reliability and performance at scale.

You’ll collaborate with deployment teams and users, help shape architecture, and tackle challenging data-processing tasks.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with distributed systems or data-intensive services.
• Experience shipping production-grade software.
• Ability to work across large codebases and participate in incident response.
• Located in the San Francisco or New York area and open to working in office.

Responsibilities

• Independently own well-scoped, meaningful projects that improve reliability and performance of Peregrine's data platform.
• Work within datastores, data pipelines, and related layers to ingest, process, and enrich data at scale and low latency.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and extend existing patterns where needed.
• Collaborate with deployment teams and users to iterate and resolve problems.
• Participate in incident response and root-cause analyses.
• Help scale and tune the search infrastructure to keep pace with data growth.
