Job summary

Voreas Laboratories Inc. seeks a Senior Backend / Data Platform Engineer to design and build scalable databases and APIs for customer-facing products. You will own core platform components, aligning data models and architecture with product needs.

You will collaborate with product, research, and infra teams, deploying services in Kubernetes and ensuring performance, reliability, and security at scale. Remote-friendly with Atlanta presence.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating large-scale databases and analytical workloads.
• Strong backend development experience in Python, Go, Java, or similar.
• Proficiency with data modeling, indexing strategies, and workload tuning.
• Experience deploying services on Kubernetes and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate large-scale databases (OLTP and analytical).
• Architect and develop high-performance APIs for commercial customers.
• Design data models optimized for scale and maintainability.
• Deploy and operate backend services in Kubernetes environments.
• Optimize database performance and API latency under load.
• Define API contracts, schemas, and versioning strategies.
• Collaborate on Kubernetes deployment patterns, CI/CD, and observability.
• Implement security best practices including authentication and data protection.
• Troubleshoot production issues in distributed systems.
• Provide technical leadership through reviews, docs, and mentorship.
