Job summary

Zeus AI in Cambridge, a remote-first company with in-person options, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own the data platform powering global weather models. You will build and maintain near real-time data ingestions and model outputs, ensuring low downtime and scalable data flows.

You will implement robust pipelines, manage cloud infrastructure, and advance CI/CD practices, collaborating with scientists and engineers to push the boundaries of Earth observations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend and data engineering experience.
• 1+ years geospatial data processing experience.
• Experience operating live data pipelines with uptime targets.
• Strong CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and DevOps skills for data platforms.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP and Lambda in production.
• Interest in scientific research and cutting-edge developments.
• Ability to drive technical projects end-to-end with autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Own the data platform powering ML weather models and real-time inference.
• Design, implement, and operate robust multi-dimensional pipelines.
• Monitor pipeline health, data integrity, and performance.
• Lead platform engineering best practices across CI/CD, IaC, testing and deployments.
• Develop data pipelines to ingest remote sensing into Zeus AI’s data lake.
• Serve data to users via cloud storage, APIs, and web visualizations.
