Job summary

WindBorne Systems seeks a software engineer to keep Atlas model inference running and to build real-time data pipelines for atmospheric observations. You will work with the deep learning team, backend, and frontend engineers to learn quickly and ship reliable tooling.

You’ll focus on reliability, monitoring, and building interfaces to visualize progress and issues, with an emphasis on hands-on problem solving and rapid iteration. In-person role in California with strong compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Own software in production and responsibility for post-launch performance, failures, and recovery.
• Experience solving hard technical problems and reading unfamiliar code.

Responsibilities

• Keep forecasts running by building tooling that runs weather models and detects failures.
• Process atmospheric data in real time by building pipelines for incoming observations and handling late/missing data.
• Show system behavior with visualization tools to monitor progress, slowdowns, and failures.
