Job summary

HRL Laboratories, a leader in quantum and classical computing research, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design internal tools and data stores that collect logs and metrics from spin qubit devices and related hardware/software systems.

You will collaborate with physicists, software engineers, data scientists, IT, and device test teams to surface analytics and support operational decisions in a high-impact environment.

Qualifications

• Strong physics background and ability to bridge experimental data with software systems.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, and VueJS for internal tooling and dashboards.
• Experience with Elasticsearch or similar logging/observability stacks.
• Proven track record leading multi-stakeholder technical projects in R&D environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data collection and analytics infrastructure for quantum computing systems.
• Develop internal tools and dashboards using Python, SQL, and VueJS.
• Add observability to internal APIs and device test workflows.
• Collaborate with physicists and test engineers to structure and contextualize data.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives across software, physics, and hardware teams.
