Mirantis, a Kubernetes-native AI infrastructure company, seeks a Senior Data Platform Engineer to run PostgreSQL and Apache Kafka behind k0rdent-ai. You will deploy and operate CloudNativePG and Strimzi on Kubernetes across cloud and bare-metal clusters, with a focus on reliability, security, and recoverability.

You will own automation, upgrades, observability, backups, and disaster recovery, providing self-service access to databases and topics through code for product teams.

Competenze

• 8+ years in DevOps, SRE, platform, or infrastructure engineering.
• 3+ years running stateful systems (databases or message streaming) in production.
• Strong hands-on Kubernetes operations on cloud and bare-metal clusters.

Mansioni

• Run PostgreSQL and Kafka on Kubernetes: deploy, upgrade, scale, and maintain clusters across regions.
• GitOps & IaC: manage declarative configurations using Argo CD/Flux, Terraform; build CI/CD for database and Kafka changes.
• High Availability & Disaster Recovery: design and operate HA and cross-region DR with defined RPO/RTO and regular failover drills.
• Self-Service Platform: enable product teams to provision databases, users, topics, and ACLs via code.
• Observability & Operations: build monitoring/alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) and participate in on-call.
• Security & Multi-Tenancy: implement TLS/mTLS, secrets management, network policies, and per-tenant isolation.
