Job summary

Ellipsis Health is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and scale a secure data platform across GCP and AWS, enabling analytics, ML Ops and BI. You will collaborate with Data Science, ML, App Dev and DevOps teams to implement end-to-end ML Ops pipelines and to architect data warehousing with Databricks, dbt and Spark.

Develop ETL pipelines for structured and unstructured data, optimize costs, and build dashboards using Sigma, Metabase, Tableau and Looker.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years designing and building large-scale data platforms.
• Strong SQL, data modeling and data warehousing skills (Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
• Proficiency in Python for building and maintaining data pipelines.
• Hands-on Spark experience; ETL/Orchestration with Airflow, dbt.
• Experience with BI tools Sigma, Metabase, Tableau, Looker.
• Cloud infra in GCP and AWS; CI/CD with GitLab/GitHub.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, PubSub, Debezium.
• Knowledge of data governance, HIPAA, SOC-2, HITRUST.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and operation of a scalable data platform for analytics and ML Ops.
• Collaborate with Data Science, ML, App Dev, and DevOps teams on end-to-end ML Ops pipelines.
• Architect data warehousing solutions using Databricks, dbt, and Spark.
• Develop and maintain ETL/data pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Optimize storage and processing for cost and performance in GCP and AWS.
• Build dashboards and analytics with Sigma, Metabase, Tableau, Looker.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, SOC-2, HITRUST).
• Evaluate third-party anonymization and security solutions to protect data.
• Provide strategic guidance on platform evolution to meet growth and technical needs.
• Design and implement scalable infrastructure for LLM operations and serving platforms.
• Collaborate with AI/ML teams on real-time and batch processing and observability.
