Xcel Energy in the United States is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to lead the Databricks Lakehouse Platform across AWS and GCP. You will ensure scalable, secure data services and collaborate with data engineering, security, and business teams to drive analytics and AI/ML initiatives.

The role requires 10+ years of related experience, strong communication, and a track record of delivering enterprise data solutions. Hybrid work model with onsite expectations in select roles.

Qualifications

• Ten years of related functional experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in Technology, Science, Business or related field, or 4 years of experience equivalent to the position.
• Excellent communication and ability to translate between technical and non-technical concepts.
• Strong relationship management and cross-organizational collaboration.
• Expertise managing lifecycle of technical solutions.
• Deep SME in system domain products, platforms, and architecture.
• Broad knowledge of technology architecture, infrastructure, security and software.
• Experience with vendors and cross-functional teams.
• Analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Awareness of future tech trends and leadership on technical aspects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support solution lifecycle activities with focus on user experience and performance.
• Coach and mentor team members; drive cost efficiencies and optimal designs.
• Contribute to strategic roadmap and dependencies for technical solutions.
• Stay current with industry capabilities and apply knowledge.
• Monitor performance, health, and debt; escalate incidents with vendors and teams.
