Job summary

Fantom Corporation seeks a Senior Data & Software Engineer to design, develop, and operate large-scale data platforms and mission-critical apps. The role blends data engineering, full-stack development, cloud architecture, graph databases, MLOps, and DevSecOps in secure environments.

You will design and run batch and real-time pipelines, build front-end using React/Next.js, develop microservices in Python/Java/Scala, and manage cloud-native solutions on AWS with Kubernetes/Docker.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating large-scale data systems with billions to trillions of records/events.
• Strong experience with ETL/ELT, batch and real-time pipelines and distributed data processing.
• Full-stack development with React/Next.js and backend tech such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with REST APIs and microservices architectures.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with AWS or other major cloud platforms.
• Proficiency with relational, NoSQL, and graph databases, including DynamoDB, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Neo4j.
• Experience with Spark/PySpark, Lambda, Step Functions, and stream processing.
• Knowledge of Gremlin, TinkerPop, JanusGraph; data security, governance and LDAP.
• Experience building MLOps pipelines and working in secure government environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain enterprise-grade batch and real-time ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Develop front-end applications using React, Next.js, WebGL, or similar tech.
• Develop backend services and microservices using Python, Java, Scala, C/C++, and REST APIs.
• Design and operate large-scale data platforms including NoSQL, relational, and graph DBs.
• Build and optimize graph DBs with Gremlin, Cassandra, Neo4j, JanusGraph, TinkerPop.
• Develop high-performance data processing pipelines with PySpark, Lambda, Step Functions, NiFi.
• Design data models, partitioning, indexing, streaming, and aggregation workflows.
• Develop and maintain cloud-native solutions across AWS and other clouds.
• Build and operate Kubernetes and Docker-based infrastructure.
• Develop CI/CD, IaC, DevSecOps, and MLOps pipelines.
• Implement data security, encryption, auditing, LDAP access controls, data governance.
• Support federal security, compliance, and accreditation requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering and stakeholders to meet mission requirements.
