Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to design, build, and operate enterprise-scale data platforms within the EDW. You will define standards, drive modernization, mentor engineers, and stay hands-on in backend data engineering, prioritizing scalability, performance, and analytical correctness across the EDW.

You will collaborate with product teams to ensure user stories are clear, testable, and ready for development, while leading complex initiatives and promoting best practices

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend data engineering or analytics platform experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery preferred).
• Advanced SQL and Python proficiency.
• Experience designing enterprise-grade data models.
• Experience with semantic layers across domains; AtScale preferred.
• CI/CD and orchestration experience (Jenkins, Airflow).
• Ability to influence architecture without direct authority.

• Learn and grow through formal and informal development channels.
• Plan and align with Product teams; translate user stories into testable items and architectures.
