Job summary

Teya is building a data-rich platform to empower local businesses across Europe. We seek a Senior Data Engineer to own core data infrastructure, manage ELT pipelines, and collaborate with analytics and engineering teams to drive scalable analytics and future AI capabilities.

You will help design architecture, maintain data platforms, and advance governance and observability while pushing for simpler data processes and better data quality across the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering or data platform experience.
• Strong SQL expertise for complex analytical queries.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java.
• Experience with data warehouses such as Snowflake or Apache Iceberg.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerised workloads.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tooling (dbt, Airflow, Airbyte, dlt).
• Hands-on provisioning and management of cloud infrastructure with Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing and Git workflows.
• Familiarity with observability practices (logging, metrics, alerting, prod troubleshooting).

Responsibilities

• Designing and evolving the architecture of our data infrastructure.
• Maintaining the existing data platform.
• Ensuring the reliability of data ingestion pipelines.
• Propagating learnings within the Data Engineering team and across Teya.
• Guaranteeing proper data governance with practical processes.
• Improving data reliability, quality and observability across datasets.
• Building and improving data models for large datasets with a simple lifecycle.
• Designing and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines for scalable analytics.
• Collaborating with analysts and engineering teams to deliver reliable production solutions.
• Participating in on-call rotation and incident investigations.
• Engaging in code reviews and maintaining engineering standards.
• Creating and maintaining documentation and runbooks.
