Job summary

Gatekeeper Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data and Platform Engineer to own the backend data infrastructure and cloud data warehouse.

You will design relational schemas, manage a Google Cloud SQL/PostgreSQL stack, and build a layered BigQuery analytics architecture that supports cross-location analytics and LP workflows. You will also design and maintain the API layer (GraphQL/REST), enforce strong data contracts, and collaborate with offshore teams while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Deep PostgreSQL design, query optimization, and HA operations.
• BigQuery partitioning, clustering, and cost control.
• Production‑quality Python on serverless/SDKs.
• GCP infra as code with Terraform.
• REST/GraphQL API design with RBAC.
• Security, row‑level isolation, and multi‑tenant data handling.
• AI tooling usage for design, research, and code generation.

Responsibilities

• Own backend data infrastructure and data warehouse integration from design to deployment.
• Mentor offshore/remote engineers; perform code reviews and architecture guidance.
• Design and evolve API surfaces; enforce versioning and data contracts.
• Collaborate with hardware teams on event pipelines and data flows.
• Ensure data freshness, quality, and cost control across pipelines.
• Lead data platform resilience, CI/CD gates, and SOC 2 readiness evidence.
