Job summary

Equinox is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to join our technology team in NYC. This hands-on role will build and evolve the data platform, data pipelines, and integration tools in a hybrid setting.

The ideal candidate will have strong AWS experience, expertise in data warehouses, and the ability to partner with Data Science, Analytics and Business teams to deliver trustworthy datasets and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software/data engineering experience with enterprise-scale systems.
• Expertise in designing data warehouses using star schemas and dimensional modeling.
• Strong SQL skills with complex queries and large datasets; Python a plus.
• Hands-on AWS experience (Redshift, S3, Glue, Athena, EMR, Lambda).
• Familiarity with dbt, ELT/analytics engineering practices, and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain scalable data architectures and pipelines.
• Build data models and schemas in Redshift to enable self-service analytics.
• Monitor and optimize data jobs for high availability and performance.
• Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and alerting.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Analytics and Business teams to meet data needs.
• Maintain technical documentation and version-controlled workflows.
