Job summary

Instrumentl is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own a foundational data platform. You will shape architecture, stand up reliable pipelines, and set standards enabling data scale for a profitable, fast-growing company.

You’ll build ingestion, storage, processing, and transformation systems, craft end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines, and collaborate with engineering, product, and analytics teams to deliver trusted data for BI and decision-making.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production software, with 2–3 focused on data engineering.
• Strong programming skills in Python and advanced proficiency in SQL.
• Proven experience building ETL/ELT pipelines end to end.
• Hands-on experience with a cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and a modern data warehouse ( Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift ).

Responsibilities

• Design and scale our data platform across pipelines, models, and orchestration.
• Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting from APIs, databases, and event streams.
• Apply software engineering principles (testing, CI/CD, modular design) to data infra.
• Establish best practices for data modeling, testing, and quality.
• Build the semantic layer and dashboards to enable data for BI and analytics.
