Job summary

Ascensus, a leading technology and service platform powering savings plans in America, seeks a Senior Business Systems Analyst (Data Platform) to translate business needs into data requirements and ensure a governed, trusted data source.

You will partner with stakeholders, data architects, and engineering to define data models, pipelines, and lineage while upholding governance and security in regulated financial services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in a business systems/ data-focused analyst role.
• Proven experience translating business needs into enterprise-scale data requirements.
• Strong experience with enterprise data platforms, including Oracle, Azure Data Warehouses, and ETL/integration tools.
• Demonstrated ownership of a data dictionary and/or business glossary.
• Strong understanding of data governance and source-of-truth principles.
• Experience partnering with data architects and engineering teams in complex environments.
• Financial services or fintech experience, including regulated data requirements.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead elicitation, analysis, and documentation of data-related business requirements.
• Translate business needs into data elements, metrics, transformations, and access patterns.
• Own and maintain the enterprise data dictionary and business glossary.
• Partner with Data Architects and Data Engineering to reflect requirements in models and pipelines.
• Document end-to-end data flows and lineage from source to downstream consumers.
• Serve as liaison between business stakeholders and data delivery teams.
• Support backlog refinement and prioritization for development.
• Identify and remediate data quality, consistency, and governance issues.
• Reinforce data governance standards, documentation practices, and access methods.
• Participate in design reviews and cross-functional working groups.
